Biography

Autolycus was a proficient thief since he was a young child. Later in life, he taught wrestling to Hercules and owned a helmet of invisibility that he eventually gave to Odysseus to help him sneak into Troy unseen. This helmet would eventually come into the possession of his father Hermes at New Olympia.[1]

As an adult, Autolycus is called from his time to the present day by Cronus and offered a deal: in exchange for finding the last remaining arrow of Hercules that had been dipped in Hydra's blood for Cronus, he would be given a Golden Apple of Immortality from the Garden of the Hesperides. To aid in his efforts, Cronus returned to him his own helmet of invisibility, which he had once given to Odysseus to let him sneak into Troy unseen.[1]

Autolycus breaks into various labs and museums in New Olympia. The Chosen Ones track the real arrow to Theresa's Dad and eventually capture Autolycus, but allow him to return to Cronus with a fake arrow, who, in actuality, was a shape-shifting bottle imp named Gary that had been annoying Theresa. Autolycus gets away with the apple that will grant him immortality, but has the apple taken away from him by Hermes before Autolycus can consume it. Autolycus was last seen looking up at his father with a worried expression as Hermes merely greeted his son with a tone and smile of promising punishment.[1]

Though his exact punishment is unknown, he was likely eventually returned to his own time in the past through unknown means.[1]
