Characters Female Immortals Goddess Heros Olympian Season One Season Two

Nemesis is the goddess of justice, balance, and retribution against those who succumb to arrogance.

Appearance

Nemesis is a tall woman with long, wavy red hair and wears a simple black dress. She wears a black blindfold over her eyes, but it doesn't appear to affect her sight. She can usually be seen either holding a sword or golden scales.

Personality

She is often looking to correct the negative behavior of people and will curse certain ones when necessary. She appears to keep an eye on those she curses as she observed Neil after giving him the Midas Touch and even warned Cronus she would be watching him.

In the Series

In the episode Golden Boy, Nemesis resembles the classic personification of Justice: a blindfolded woman carrying a sword. In fact, she inhabits the statue of Justice at New Olympia's courthouse. Having watched Neil for some time, Nemesis has become angry with Neil's self-centered attitude and arrogance and curses him with the Midas Touch. Nemesis lifts the curse when Neil is able to think of others before himself and save his friends when they need him most. Her wrath applies to both mortals and gods, such that she even threatens Cronus with punishment should he become too arrogant.

Mythology

Aura
Aura was a virgin huntress, just like Artemis and proud of her maidenhood. One day, she claimed that the body of Artemis was too womanly and she doubted her virginity. Artemis asked Nemesis for help to avenge her dignity and caused the rape of Aura by Dionysus. Aura became a mad and dangerous killer. When she bore twin sons, she ate one of them while the other one, Iacchus, was saved by Artemis. Iacchus later became an attendant of Demeter and the leader of Eleusinian Mysteries.
