Russel, better known by his stage name Melampus, is a circus master in charge of the "Circus of the Impossible".
Biography
Originally named Russell, he was familiar with Greek mythology and was born with telepathic powers that allowed him to communicate with animals. For this reason he opened the "Circus of the Impossible" and chose the stage name "Melampus", after the mythological figure with the same ability.
After sending the Stymphalian Birds to his circus to capture Neil, Cronus witnessed Melampus's ability to command the birds to leave. He then permanently both stole and destroyed his telepathy and altered his personality to be mean-spirited, preventing him from ever communicating with his animals again or be willing to help The Chosen Ones.[1]
